MOTM counselors can help with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, OCD, relationship problems, grief and loss, trauma, and more.
More information about this is available under The Team tab, as each clinician has identified areas of mental health needs they work with clients on.
This depends a little bit on which clinician you work with, and what your insurance may require from us. In general though, the first session will cover introductions if you haven't done that through a consult, along with covering basic paperwork if needed, limits of confidentiality, and the process of therapy. We will also gather some basic information about your history including physical and mental health, education, work, and history with counseling. After we gather that information we'll work together with you to identify some preliminary goals to work on in therapy, and how we will accomplish them.
Our clinicians are trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities. Your therapist will typically integrate more than one approach into your treatment. If you are seeking a therapy technique your current therapist is not trained it, you can be referred to a provider who is trained in that style. Communicate with your therapist about your goals and priorities in your treatment and they will work with you to ensure your needs are met.
Length of time in treatment is dependent on several factors, including your therapeutic goals, frequency of sessions, modality used, and level of client readiness and engagement in treatment. Your therapist will update your treatment plan with you every 90 days.
Absolutely! All of our counselors offer a free 15-minute consultation phone call prior to beginning treatment. This call allows you and the therapist to discuss your goals, questions, and gauge if it is an appropriate match for services.
